Cross country skiing
If you’re looking for a leisurely ski or more of a rigorous workout, cross-country skiing is a great way to explore the intimate corners of the Canadian Rockies. Access is made easy with an extensive network of trails that are groomed and track-set for world-class skiing, whether you head out on your own or with a professional guide.
At over 6000 square kilometres, Banff National Park is a giant playground just beckoning you to experience its more remote regions with backcountry touring. With the use of touring skis or a split snowboard, which allow you to ski both up and downhill, you can venture away from the crowds into pristine alpine areas where you “earn your turns” under the guidance of a professional mountain guide.
Heli Skiing and Boarding
With big bowls, untracked terrain and an easy lift to the top, heli-skiing or snowboarding will give you the most memorable and exhilarating runs of your life. Available just outside of Banff National Park, heli package options include day trips or multi-day trips with a stay at an authentic backcountry ski lodge.
Tubing is a great family activity and is now available at two ski resorts in Banff National Park
